Marvin Thurman Marvin Thurman was born Nov. 3, 1957, in Huntington, W.Va., the son of Ethel Damron and the late William A. Thurman. He was united in marriage to Rene Henry on March 17, 1988, who survives. Mr. Thurman was a cement mason with Power Construction Company. He had worked for Walsh Construction Company and Barrier Corporation. He was member of Local 502 Cement Mason’s Bellwood, Ill. Mr. Thurman was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, and loved his granddaughters. Mr. Thurman departed this life on Saturday, May 1, in Savannah, at the age of 52 years, 5 months, 28 days. He is survived by his wife Rene (Henry) Thurman of Savannah; a son, James A. Thurman of Villa Park, Ill.; two brothers, Jeff Thurman, John Thurman; three sisters, Cathy Gendvese, Debbie Kolander, Teresa Gedretis; two grandchildren, Charlotte Ann Thurman and Lila Lynn Thurman. Services were held on Thursday, May 6, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Mark LaRue officiating. Burial was in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
