Martha Nelle Hindman Booker, 78, of Savannah, died on Sunday, Jan. 21, at Magnolia Regional Hospital.
She was born in the Childers Hill Community of Hardin County, the daughter of the late Haskell Edward Hindman and Sybil Aline Dickerson Hindman. She was united in marriage to Jeff Booker, who survives.
Mrs. Booker lived most of her life in Hardin County with the exception of a brief period out of high school when she worked with the FBI in a clerical position in Washington, D.C., and also for a brief period near Ft. Hood, Texas, while her husband was in the military. She was employed at Hardin County General Hospital for three years, and then spent 37 years as a social worker with the Tennessee Department of Human Services. She attended Savannah Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband, Jeff Booker; she is survived by two sons, Trent Booker of Senatobia, Mississippi, and Barry Booker of White House, Tennessee; five grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Davis of Olive Branch, Mississippi; two nephews; and a niece.

Services were held on Friday, Jan. 26, at Savannah Church of Christ with Jim Chamblee officiating. Burial followed in Liberty Cemetery at Michie.
