Maedell Russell Maedell N. Russell was born in Hardin County, on April 18, 1933, the daughter of the late Dewey and Cornelia Neely Neill. She was united in marriage to Robert D. Russell. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1993. Mrs. Russell was a homemaker. She lived in the Burnt Church community most of her life except for a brief stay in Cheyenne, Wyo., while her husband was in the U.S. Air Force. She stayed home most of her life and was a very dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Russell departed this life on Wednesday, March 28, at the age of 78 years, 11 months, 10 days. She is survived by one son, Robert Russell of Savannah; two daughters, Suzanne Linville and husband James of Savannah; Amy D. Russell Brown and husband, Donald of Savannah; five grandchildren, Joshua Linville and wife Amanda, Rosannah Linville, Robert Andrew (Drew) Russell, Neely Brown, and Taylor Brown; one great-grandchild, Cheyenna Linville; one sister, Jo Nell Blackwelder of Savannah. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth N. Hulen and Hazel N. Crotts; two brothers, Floyd B. Neill and Lloyd T. Neill. Services were held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11 a.m., at Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Savannah with Abe Silliman, Eric Jones, Wade Holbrook officiating. Burial followed in the Big Hill Cemetery at Savannah.
