Loyce (Clem) Clement Loyce (Clem) Clement was born in Phil Campbell, Ala. on April 9, 1932, the son of the late Robert Roy and Icie Evelyn Carroll Clement. On April 16, 1953, he was united in marriage to Joyce Ramsey, who survives. Mr. Clement was an automotive salesman and mechanic for Miller’s Used Cars in Haleyville, Ala. He had lived in Haleyville for 58 years. He had also lived in Bear Creek, Ala. until the age of 21 and Savannah, Tenn. for the past 11 years. He was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church in Savannah, New Hope Baptist in Haleyville where he served as a deacon for 30 years. He was also a member of the Free and Accepted Masons 464, he was the past Master in Haleyville. Mr. Clement was a Gideon representative for about 9 years. He loved to garden, mechanic work, weld; work was his past time. Mr. Clement enjoyed singing with the New Harmony singers, was the song director at New Hope Baptist Church, and taught Sunday School. He was a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Clement departed this life on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the age of 78 years, 9 months, 24 days. In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by a daughter, Leisa Clement Whaley and husband Paul of Savannah; a son, Steve Clement of Quitman, Miss.; four grandchildren, Reid Whaley, Alison Whaley, both of Savannah, Heath Clement and Grant Clement, both of Quitman, Miss.; a sister, Ava Jean Mize of Haleyville, Ala.; a brother, Collin Clement of Houston, Texas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Clement. Services were held on Friday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Ron Davidson officiating. Burial was in the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery at Hardin County, Tenn.
