Larry "Hootie" Jerrolds

Larry Hugh "Hootie" Jerrolds was born in Hardin County on Feb. 10, 1941, the son of Paul Willard and Robbie McRean Smith Jerrolds.

On Sept. 29, 1961, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Kate Alexander, who survives.

Mr. Jerrolds had worked for Tennessee River Pulp and Paper Company in the Woodland Division for seven years and had worked alongside his son for the last 17 years doing carpentry work. He lived in the Burnt Church community and was a member of Turkey Creek Union Church and was presently attending Turkey Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed coon hunting, deer hunting, fishing, gardening and hog farming.

Mr. Jerrolds departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 9, at the age of 68 years, 10 months, 30 days.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Jerrolds is survived by a daughter, Angelia R. Barnhill and husband Greg of Savannah; a son, Cregg Jerrolds and wife Tammy of Savannah; two brothers, Wayne and Bobby Jerrolds both of Savannah; three grandchildren, Daron Frazier of Brentwood, Tenn., Derrick Frazier and wife Claire, Daniel Jerrolds all of Savannah.

Mr. Jerrolds was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Jerrolds.

Services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Bobby Rich, Eric Jones, J.W. Vanhoose, Will McReynolds officiating. Burial was in the Neill Cemetery at Savannah.
