Jimmy Franks Jimmy "Gabby" Franks, 73, of Savannah, died Friday, Nov. 11, in Savannah. He was born in Savannah, the son of the late Jamie Chesley and Willie Mae Baugus Franks. He was united in marriage to Dianna Parker Hensel, who survives. Mr. Franks was a self-employed logger. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Franks enjoyed providing wagon rides for children and adults in several communities and parades. Services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Richard King officiating. Burial followed in the Franks Cemetery at Hardin County. In addition to his wife, Dianna of Savannah, he is survived by three sons, Jimmy E., Timmy L. and Terry D. Franks, all of Savannah; two step-sons, Randy Hensel of Chattanooga and Shawn Hensel of Cleveland, Tenn.; one step-daughter, Holly Hensel of Detroit, Mich.; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Rachel Franks of Savannah; two sisters, Rheba Franks and Peggy Beckham, both of Savannah. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and David Earl Franks.
