Jerry Michael Willcutt, 64, formerly of the Childers Hill community of Hardin County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21. Jerry was born on April 10, 1961, to the late James B. Willcutt and Elsie Mae Collins Willcutt. He was a kind-hearted soul known for his gentle nature and love of life’s simple pleasures.
Jerry found great joy in the quiet moments—whether casting a fishing line on a peaceful afternoon, adding to his collection of cherished model cars, or spending time around horses and bicycles that brought him a childlike happiness throughout his life. He was a man who found beauty in the details and comfort in nature.
He is survived by his loving siblings, Dorothy Thompson (Junior) of Michie, Tennessee; Ruby Cranford of Selmer, Tennessee; Melinda Cranford of Ridgely, Tennessee; Tommy Willcutt (Connie); Daniel Ray Willcutt; and Leon Willcutt (Shirley). Jerry also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss his presence.
In addition to his beloved parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, James Robert Willcutt, Marie Lou Willcutt, Mattie Sagely, Wanda Kay Johnson, Brenda Sue Simpkins, and Katherine Newcomb.
A service celebrating Jerry’s life was held on Monday, August 25, at Childers Hill Pentecostal Church, with Brother Rex McGee officiating.
Services were under the direction of Associated Family Funeral Home in Adamsville.
