Jean Hardin

Jean Hardin was born Feb. 7, 1929, in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Jack William and Ocie Fowler Kelly.

On Sept. 7, 1947, she was united in marriage to Robert Ray Hardin. Mr. Hardin preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 2007.

Mrs. Hardin was a homemaker and was a member of the East End United Methodist Church in Savannah. Mrs. Hardin was a member of DAR–Daughters of the American Revolution-Memphis Chapter. She was also a co-owner of the Savannah Electric and Supply Company. She loved her grandchildren, enjoyed reading, decorating and shopping.

Mrs. Hardin departed this life on Thursday, May 5, in Savannah, at the age of 82 years, 2 months, 28 days.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Jean (Hardin) Plunk and Teresa (Hardin) Hosea both of Savannah; two sons, Bobby Hardin and Darious Hardin, both of Savannah; seven grandchildren, Bobbie Ann Boroughs and husband Dave, James Hardin and wife Kristy, Shannon Hardin and wife Misty, Jon Hardin and wife Kristina, Kelly (Hardin) Dunn and husband Jason, Nathan Plunk and wife Shelley, and Wesley Plunk; eight great-grandchildren, Cade Hardin, Alex Hardin, Tyler Hardin, Jordan Boroughs, Treston Hardin, Katelen Hardin, Bailey Hardin, and Anna Jane Dunn; one brother, Hugh Kelly of Savannah.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Hardin was preceded in death by two sisters, Jacquline Wolfe and Oneda Logue.

Services were held on Saturday, May 7, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Duwayne Pounds and Dave Boroughs officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.

Memorial donations may be made to the Darryl Worely Cancer Center and Sheltering Tree Ministries in care of the Sharon Baptist Church.
