James David Wicker Sr., 57, of Munford, Tenn., died on Tuesday, July 30, at his residence. 
He was born in Chicago, Ill., the son of the late Troy John and Gladys Davis Wicker. He was united in marriage to Maria Wicker who survives.
Mr. Wicker retired from the United States Navy after serving 24 years. During his service he received a National Defense Service medal, three Navy Commendation medals, five Navy Achievement medals, three Navy Expeditionary medals, a Navy Arctic Service ribbon, two Navy “E” ribbons, three Sea Service Deployment ribbons, Meritorious Unit Commendations, and his sixth Good Conduct Award for the period ending Aug. 27, 1999.
He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Services were held on Friday, Aug. 2, at 2 p.m. at Childers Hill Pentecostal Church in Michie, Tenn., with Todd Wilson and Patrick Terry officiating. Burial was held at Pisgah Cemetery in Michie, Tenn., with military honors.
In addition to his wife,  he is also survived by his son, James Wicker Jr. of Munford; two step sons, Bryant Arriaza of Drummonds, Tenn., and Osiel Arriaza of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren;  three sisters, Peggy Rosier  of Michie, Tenn., Frances Phillips of Adamsville, and Angela Wicker Jerrolds  of Indianapolis, Ind.; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arlie Franklin Wicker and Troy Wicker Jr.; brother-in-law, James Phillips; and nephew Buddy McCain.
