James Earl Maples, 84, of Adamsville, departed this life on Wednesday, December 24, the son of the late Willie and Evelyn Bates Maples.
He was united in marriage to Linda Faye Rainey, who survives.
James worked in production for Aqua Glass Corporation. James was a member of Meeks Grove Baptist Church in Adamsville.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, Linda Maples, he is survived by his grandson, Nicholas James Maples; and two brothers, Neill Maples and RL Maples.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Maples; daughter, Tina Maples; and a host of brothers and sisters.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, December 30, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Tony Polk officiating. Burial followed at Old Union Cemetery in Adamsville.
