James Durham

James Robert Durham, 88, of Adamsville, died Wednesday, July 28, at Hardin Medical Center.

He was the son of the late James Robert Sr. and Virginia Durham. He was united in marriage to Lois V. White Durham, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Durham was a teacher, employed with the McNairy County School System for 33 years. He was a member of Faith Pointe Church in Adamsville. He was a United States Army World War II Veteran. He served as the chairman of the McNairy County Republican Party for many years.

Services were held Friday, July 30, at Faith Pointe Church, Adamsville, with Bill Luther, Dr. Howard Thomas and Rob Yanok officiating. Burial was in Pine Hill Memorial Garden, Adamsville. Arrangements by Sahckelford Funeral Directors of Selmer.

He is survived by a daughter, Robbie Knight of Michie; two sons, Harvey of Adamsville and Wayne Durham of Corinth, Miss.; and eight grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Cora Foster, Maggie Fondren, Irene Boswell and Elizabeth Durham; and three brothers, Albert M. Johnny and Vernon Durham.
