James Boyd
James Robert (Quack) Boyd of Clifton was born Nov. 6, 1926, in Clifton, the son of the late William McKinley and Ruby Wilson Boyd. He was united in marriage to Della Mae Gordon on Aug. 5, 1950. Mr. Boyd was retired and had been a supervisor for 30 years at Paris Manufacturing in Savannah.
Mr. Boyd departed this life on Thursday, Feb. 28, at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, at the age of 86 years, 3 months, 22 days.
He is survived by his wife, Della Mae Gordon Boyd of Clifton; a son, Tommy Lee Boyd and wife Lisa of Clifton; two daughters, Patricia Kelley of Waynesboro, Belinda Reynolds of Leoma, Tenn.; grandchildren, Amy Boyd Hickman, Jennifer Kelley, Misty Reynolds White, Chad Reynolds, Joshua Reynolds, Kristi Paris; great-grandchildren, Jamie Lauren Hickman, Micah Pyle, Kiara White, Asa White, Kason Reynolds, Weston Reynolds; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by sons, Donnie and Dale Boyd; son-in-law, Danny F. Kelley; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Price Boyd; a sister, Jean Franks; brothers, J.W., Douglas, Billy Joe, Lloyd D., Jessie, Norman, and Willard (Muggs) Boyd; a grandchild, Brandon Stewart.
Services were held on Saturday, March 2, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Home, Waynesboro, with Jason Love and Tracy Love officiating. Burial followed in the Lone Chestnut Cemetery, Decatur County, Tenn., with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers were Chad Reynolds, Joshua Reynolds, Micah Pyle, Jason Boyd, Randy Boyd and Douglas Adams. Honorary pallbearers were Stanley Boyd and Doug Huntley.
