J.A. “Jack” Clausel (2-7-20) service 2-9-20

J.A. “Jack” Clausel, 94, of Savannah, died on Friday, Feb. 7.

He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late James Riley and Annie Alice Perry Clausel. He was united in marriage to Winnie Modene Haynes, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Clausel served his country in the United States Army during WWII. This service took him many places, including Normandy, France and Germany. Once he returned home, he worked construction for many years for Owen’s Construction and for T.V.A at Yellow Creek, and Parris Manufacturing.

He is survived by his son, Larry Williams of Adamsville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a nephew; and a niece.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Gilbert “Junior” Williams; one grandchild; brother, John Edwin Clausel; and two infant sisters.

Services were held on Sunday, Feb. 9, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Chad Balentine officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens at Savannah.
