Hunter Chase Johnson, of Savannah, was born in Jackson, Tennessee on March 30, 2000, the son of Kenneth Wade Johnson and Geneva Gail Frank Mansell.
He departed his life on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the age of 17 years, 6 months and 21 days.
Hunter was a member of Eureka United Methodist Church. He enjoyed four wheeler riding, hunting, fishing and camping. Hunter was a country boy, and his friends nicknamed him “Redneck.”
In addition to his parents, Kenneth Wade Johnson and companion Melissa Casteel and Geneva Gail Mansell and husband Gary, Hunter is survived by his brother, Dakota Wade Johnson of Savannah; step-sisters, Hannah Marie Hutcheson and Terri Ann Howard; step-brother, Gary Len Mansell Jr.; and grandparents, Patsy and Paul Johnson of Savannah.
Hunter was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil and Grace Frank; great-grandmother, Viola Wilkerson; great-great-grandfather, Dan Wilkerson; and great-great-grandparents, Robert W. and Mary Ruth Austin Hunt.
Services were held on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Dennis Usner officiating. Burial followed in Wesley’s Chapel Church Cemetery at Savannah.
