Harrell D. Conaway, 68, was born in Hardin County on July 20, 1945, the son of the late Gilbert Claude and Ethel Laurene Smith Conaway. On November 14, 1964, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Rogers, who survives.
Mr. Conaway served his country in the United States Army. He was a teacher for 32 years at Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Crump and was a minister for 32 years at Olivet Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Conaway enjoyed classic John Deere tractors, coon hunting in his younger years, raising domestic rabbits and he enjoyed the Crump Flea Market.
He departed this life on Dec. 8, at the McNairy Regional Hospital in Selmer, at the age of 68 years, 4 months and 18 days. In addition to his wife, Elizabeth of Adamsville, he is survived by a daughter, Monica Yvonne Gordon ( John) of Adamsville; three grandchildren, Ethan (Ted) Gordon, Benjamin ( B. J. ) Gordon and Evan Gordon; a brother, Keith Conaway of Adamsville.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Joey Conaway and a brother, Larry Conaway.
Services were held on Dec. 14 at Olivet Pentecostal Church in Savannah with Art Poff, Tim Gill, and Wallace Frazier officiating. Burial followed at Bethlehem Cemetery in Hardin County.
