Guy Walker Williams

Guy Walker Williams, 93, of Savannah died Saturday, June 29, at The Med in Memphis.

He was born in Hardin County on May 8, 1920, the son of the late Wheeler and Beulah Shelby Williams. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Sue Adams, on Dec. 13, 1952, who survives.

Mr. Williams was a member of Barnhill United Methodist Church. He was a retired carpenter. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.

Mr. Williams served his country honorably in the United States Army, receiving the Purple Heart for wounds received during his service in World War II.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by a son, Robert W. Williams and wife Teresa; two daughters, Sandra Moore and husband Dennis, Judy Wilkerson and husband Daniel, all of Savannah; three grandchildren, Mindy Cromwell and husband Brian, Matthew Williams and wife Kayla, and Brandy Wilkerson; two great- grandchildren, Kyleigh and Karrson Cromwell; a brother, Billy G. Williams and wife Annette of Savannah; two sisters, Ruby Howard of Memphis, and Lesby Dickson of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer, Edward, L.C. and Nelson Williams; and one sister, Agnes Wilkes.

Services were held on Tuesday, July 2, at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Becky Wilkes and Charles Linam officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
