Gordon Lindsey Hinton, 80, of Savannah, died Tuesday, April 1, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Ala. He was born in Lutts, the son of the late Marvin Lindsey and Louise Estelle McFall Hinton.

He was united in marriage to Annie Octavia Tidwell, who preceded him in death.

He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War in the Army Corps of Engineers. He was a design engineer for Weyerhaeuser. He was a member of Second Creek Church of Christ in Savannah.

He is survived by three sons, David Lee Hinton of Florence, Ala., Larry Lindsey Hinton of Lutts, Anthony Jeffrey Hinton of Collinwood; a daughter, Shelia Octavia Hinton Van Fleet of Savannah; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Freeman D. Hinton of Lutts and two sisters, Frances Marie Palmer and Ivadell Holcome both of Florence, Ala.

Services were held Saturday, April 5, at Second Creek Church of Christ in Savannah with Jim Martin and Tom Hodge officiating. Burial followed at Centenary Cemetery in Wayne County.
