George Haymon George Haymon was born in Hardin County on Dec. 21, 1943, the son of the late George and Ethel Broyles Haymon. On Aug. 26, 1966, he was united in marriage to Margaret A. Dixon, who survives. Mr. Haymon was retired as a unit supervisor from Alcoa in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Graham Chapel CME Church. He enjoyed fishing, working on engines and loved sports of all kinds. He departed this life on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the age of 67 years, 7 months, 19 days. He is survived by his wife, Margaret A. Dixon Haymon of Savannah; a son, George E. Haymon Jr. of Savannah; two daughters, Cynthia L. Haymon and Sherri Siner, both of Savannah; seven grandchildren, Antonia Hood, Kenneth Potts, Brittaney Haymon, ChaVaughn, Naijia Bryant, Kaydin Pope and Kamron Haymon; six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, R.T. Haymon and a sister, Betty Luton. Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Gallian Fulton, Prentiss Burdine, Rev. Michelle Sweet officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
