Gary Simpson, 73, of Savannah, passed way on Tuesday, May 6, the son of the late James Simpson and Wanda Via.
He was united in marriage to Nancy Stewart, who survives.
Mr. Simpson honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from September 30, 1970, until August 28, 1972. He worked in Search and Rescue Jeep Patrol for 20 years in Redding, Shasta County, California. Gary was a jeweler for 35 years in Redding, California and later worked for Littles Jewelry in Jackson, Tennessee. He was also a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Nancy Simpson; daughters, Michelle Hollister and Shannon Dean; son, Ryan O’Hern; sisters, Gail Blankenship and Bonnie Koons; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 16, at Sharon Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee, with Eric Smith officiating.
