Elisabeth Hattaway Elisabeth Elbert Morrison Hattaway was born in Grossheubach, Germany on July 2, 1937, the daughter of the late Friedrich and Theresia Schmitt Elbert. Mrs. Hattaway had been a resident of many communities including: Adamsville for 10 years, Savannah for 10 years, Gordo, Tuscaloosa, Fort Deposit, Montgomery, and Thomasville, Alabama. She had worked for the State of Alabama, the University of Alabama, the Tuscaloosa Board of Education, Partlow State School and Hospital. She was a member of the Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Savannah and the Kappa Delta Pi Honorary Scholastic Organization. Mrs. Hattaway departed this life on Thursday, May 20, at the age of 72 years, 10 months, 18 days. She is survived by a daughter, Kim T. Moore of Memphis; a son, Joe G. Morrison Jr. of Germany; two grandchildren, Michael Robinson and John Beard; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Maria Kleiner of Germany and Hedwig Clary of Tuscaloosa, Ala. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Morrison on Sept. 25, 1996; her second husband, Clayton E. Hattaway on March 8, 2001; a daughter, Betty Deborah Morrison Beard; two sisters, Rosel Peter and Gretel Ermschel; two brothers, Jacob Elbert and Josef Elbert. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 29, at the Pine Hill Memorial Garden in Adamsville with Father Thomas Kirk officiating.
