Edward E. "Skip" Morrow

Edward E. "Skip" Morrow was born in Lawrence County, Tenn., on Feb. 14, 1925, the son of Lemuel Guy and Grace Cole Morrow, and was raised in Waynesboro.

He departed this life on Thursday, Sept. 15.

Skip was first married to Mary Lou Clayton and was a teacher for Central High School inSavannah in the early 1950s. From the mid-50s until 1961, he along with his partner Jimmy Gray owned M&G Photography of Savannah and for a few years provided the senior pictures for Central High School.

In 1961 Skip married Lyle Hooper Williams and became an associate professor of the Humanities Department for Morehead State University in Morehead, Ky., where he and Lyle lived until his retirement.

Skip was laid to rest in the Morrow/Cole family plot of the Greenwood Cemetery in Waynesboro, beside his wife whom he has "been lost without" since her death in 2001.

Skip is survived by his stepson, Robert J. Williams and wife Robbie; a step-daughter Jill Niell and husband Fred, four step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.
