Dwight Casteel (4-10-14) service 4-12-14

Dwight D. "Goob" Casteel departed this life Thursday, April 10, at the age of 68 years, 4 months, 5 days.

Dwight was born in Hardin County on, Dec. 5, 1945, the son of the late Roy D. and Marie Rose Casteel. On April 11, 1970, he was united in marriage to Joyce Franks, who survives.

He was a good kindhearted man who loved everybody and loved to garden. He especially loved his family and his dog, Shorty.

Dwight is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joyce; children, Angie Reaves and husband Jon of Selmer, Bridget Harrison and husband Joe, Brandon "Goob" Casteel and wife Andrea, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Brandi Plunk, Tabitha Plunk, Buck Plunk, Jacob Casteel and Karly Jo Casteel; sisters, Nancy Bingham and husband James, and Bobbie Sue Hardin, all of Savannah; and brother, Roy Lynn "Tojo" Casteel and wife Donna of Savannah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Trae Harrison.

Services were held Saturday, April 12, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jimmy Wallace and Jon Ross Reaves officiating. Burial followed at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Hardin County.
