Duane Alan Black, 69, of Savannah, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, in Jackson, Tennessee. He was born on March 14, 1954, in Dallas, Texas, the son of the late Rufus Watson Black and Ernestine Betts Bowden.

On March 7, 1998, he was united in marriage to Paulette Roberts, who survives.

Mr. Black honorably served his country in the U.S. Army for three years. He worked as a truck driver and was hard working and ever learning. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved to fish. Duane was an awesome grandpa to his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Paulette Black of Savannah; daughter, Bobbie Jo Davis and her husband Brian of Savannah; grandchildren, Emily Arnold, Skyler Davis and Grace Davis; and great-grandchild, Wyatt Knoxx Davis.

In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Neal Bowden; sister, Patricia Bowden; and stepfather, Neal “Yogi” Bowden.
