Doris Evelyn Lackey, 99, of Savannah, departed this life on Tuesday, September 23, the daughter of the late William Hiram Omby and Mary Walker White Smith.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Kendrick Lackey, who preceded his wife in death.
Doris worked at the Defense Plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church in Savannah.
She is survived by her sons, Barry Kent Lackey and Joseph Mark Lackey; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Doris was preceded in death by her son, Gary Allen Lackey; brothers, Harold Smith, Clifford Smith, Bob Smith, and Gideon Smith; and sister, Betty Ann Reed.
Memorial services were held on Friday, September 26, at Mount Hermon Baptist Church in Savannah, with Artie Rivers officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Savannah.
