David Malloy Newman, 68, of Tuscumbia, Alabama, passed away on Friday, Jan. 31, after a brief illness at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama. He was born June 1, 1956, in Savannah, Tennessee,
David graduated from Hardin County High School. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual who retired from the TVA. Throughout his life, he enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including scuba diving, motorcycle riding, and, most recently, attending auctions. His adventurous spirit and love for discovery brought joy to those around him.
David is survived by his loving wife, Connie Newman of Tuscumbia, Alabama; his son, Daniel Newman (Marci) of Huntsville, Alabama; his mother, Anita Newman of Adamsville, Tennessee; and his sister, Lou Mayo of Jackson, Tennessee. He also leaves behind his nephews, Brooks Mayo (Lydia) and great-nephew, Dean Mayo, of Westminster, Colorado; as well as his nephew, Banks Mayo of Memphis, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Malloy Newman; and his stepson, Alex Gilbert.
Services will be held at Adamsville Methodist Church in Adamsville, Tennessee, on Saturday, February 8, at 2 p.m. Visitation will begin at noon on the same day at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Adamsville Methodist Church or “Come and See” in Adamsville.
David will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his memory will forever be cherished.
