Dale Fisher

Dale Fisher, 73, of Michie, died Sunday, April 18, in Michie.

He was born in Michie, the son of the late Cecil and Gladys Northcutt Fisher. He was united in marriage to Bettye Lambert, who survives.

Mr. Fisher graduated from Michie High School in 1955. While at Mississippi State University, he played forward for the Bulldogs basketball team, winning two Southeastern Conference titles in 1958 and 1959. He was a physical education teacher for 40 years. He was a member of the "M" Club at Mississippi State University, and was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church.

Services were held Wednesday, April 21, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer, with Steven Webb officiating. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery, near Michie.

He is survived by his wife, Bettye Fisher of Michie; three daughters, Stacey Glover of Humboldt, Tenn., Paula Hancock of Pickwick Dam and Marci Fisher of Michie; a son, Josh Fisher of Michie; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Rheba Carter of Savannah, Gay Brown of Michie and Mary Lou Bryant of Michie, three brothers, Larry Fisher of McLemoresville, Tenn., Gerald Fisher of Michie, and Paul Fisher of Selmer.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Marge Ruth Chandler; and a brother, Woodson Fisher.
