Connie Stricklin was born on Nov. 25, 1950, in Florence, Alabama, the daughter of the late Doyle Lee and Daisy Marie Woods.
On Nov. 29, 1968, she was united in marriage to Johnny Mack Stricklin, who survives.
Mrs. Stricklin was a CNA at Park Rest Nursing Home in Savannah, where she had worked for more than 18 years. She was a dedicated homemaker who, in addition to the Hardin County area, had also lived in Waterloo, Alabama for 16 years, and Mishawaka, Indiana for 7 years.
She departed this life at her residence on Saturday, March 7, at the age of 64 years, 3 months, and 10 days.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Johnny Doyle Stricklin and his wife Dawn of Woodbine, Georgia and Brian “PeeWee” Stricklin and his wife Angie of Rogersville, Alabama; two sisters, Rose Krieger of Florence, Alabama and Doris Benson of Savannah,; four brothers, Elton “Doc” Woods of Florence, Alabama, Rick, Rex and Louie “Buck” Woods, all of Waterloo, Alabama; five grandchildren, Carley Stricklin, Johnny Mack Stricklin, Hannah Stricklin, Will Cook and Payton Cook; and two special friends, Shirley Morris and Sherry Highland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Rose Stricklin; a sister, Peggy Woods Fowler; and two brothers, Randy and Gary Woods.
Services were held Monday, March 9, at 1 p.m., at Oak Grove Pentecostal Church in Waterloo, Alabama, with Jimmy McGee and Wayne Woods officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Waterloo, Alabama.
