Chester "Bo" Wayne Ray departed this life Sunday, March 2, at the age of 57 years, 5 months, 18 days. He was born in Houston, Texas, on Sept. 12, 1956, the son of the late Tom Wilson and Lillie Bell Morgan Ray.
Chester was formerly from Waterloo, Ala., and had numerous friends there. He was a client of Hardin County Skills Center and had many friends he loved there. He had also been a client of Hope Haven of Tuscumbia, Ala., for many years. Chester worked at Right Track Restaurant, McDonald’s and Wal-Mart.
Chester was a loving person who enjoyed bowling, music and dancing. He loved his family and friends and never met a stranger. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his sisters, Martha Lou Cox of Savannah, Vina Irons and her husband Roland of Town Creek, Ala., Barbara Terry of Florence, Ala.; brothers, Rickie Ray and wife Janis of Hernando, Miss., Billy Ray of Waterloo, Ala.; sister-in-law, Sue Ray of Savannah and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Leonard W., Tommie Armon and Larry Lee Ray.
Chester was one of God’s special angels and we will miss him forever.
Services were held Thursday, March 6, at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Bobby Crosswhite and Jason Dugger officiating. Burial followed at Hollands Creek Cemetery in Hardin County.
