Charlie Tennyson, 76, of Olive Hill, died on Saturday, Feb. 5, in Jackson, Tennessee.
He was born in Selmer, the son of the late Estle Charlie and Mary Lou Baker Tennyson. He was united in marriage to Carolyn McElroy, who survives.
Mr. Tennyson worked for Hardeman County Sheriff Department for over 15 years. He was in the National Guard for 22 years.
In addition to his wife Carolyn Tennyson of Olive Hill, he is survived by his son, Charles Edwin Tennyson of Corinth, Mississippi; daughter, Amanda Tennyson of Olive Hill; two stepdaughters, Rebecca Flatt of Somerville, Tennessee, Virginia Weeks of Somerville, Tennessee; a sister, Rochelle Rash of Selmer; two brothers, Lloyd Dean Tennyson of Rossville, Tennessee, Donnie Tennyson of Bolivar; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilborn Tennyson, Robert (Monty) Tennyson, Bobby Lynn Tennyson; and a sister, Mary Jo Ellis.
Services are being held on Thursday, Feb. 10, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer with Richard Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery at Selmer.
