Bruce Stephens was born Feb. 23, 1946, in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains.

He was the son of a preacher and one of seven children. His family moved to Savannah when Bruce was about 5 years old. Bruce grew up in the church and learned at a young age to love the Lord. He served his country in the National Guard. On Nov. 25, 1987, he married Connie Smith, who survives.

Everyone knew Bruce by Bruce’s Auto Repair, the business he started about 1980. He loved working on cars. Bruce was a kindhearted person, who would help anyone in need. He was always paying someone’s bills that were unable to pay. He loved being outside and working on the farm in Milledgeville on his days off from work. He liked driving his little Ford Tractor. Bruce was a man of many talents, from being an auto man to playing the piano, he was good at whatever he did.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 26 years, Connie Stephens of Savannah; four sisters, Lois Alexander, Lucille Robinson, Donnie Alexander and Nancy Polk, all of Savannah; a brother, Willis Stephens of Adamsville and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
