Bobby Gene Russell, 85, of Savannah, died on Friday, Sept. 13, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis. He was the son of the late Thomas C. and Lula Baugus Russell. He was united in marriage to Rena Lee Baugus, who survives.
Mr. Russell was the owner and operator of Russell’s Trucking. He was a member for many years of Savannah Church of Christ.
Services were held on Monday, Sept. 16, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jim Chamblee and Wes Hazel officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
In addition to his wife, Rena of Savannah, he is survived by his two sons, Joel Russell of Savannah and Randy Russell of Spring Hill, Tenn.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ruth Crocker, one half sister, Daisy Matheny and two half brothers, Morris and Joe Gravett.
