Beryl Columbus Gray

Our husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, friend, and brother-in-Christ will forever be remembered.

Beryl was born on March 31,1940 in Savannah, Tenn., to Luther and Edith Gray. He passed away in Dallas, Texas on Monday, Nov. 14.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Nancy; sons, Stephen Gray and wife Mary, Allen Gray and wife Julie; daughters, Pamela Caffey and husband Ken, Reneé McCurdy and husband Darrin; grandchildren, Lori Smith, Whitney Tijerina, Emily Caffey, Kelly Caffey; Jimmy Gray, Mindy Gray, and Aaron Gray; Kelsey Gray, Caleb Gray, Noah Gray, Emma Gray, Jude Gray; great grandchildren, Julian Torres, Jetta Torres, Haylee Stephens and Gabriel Tijerina.

Beryl was a born again Christian and a member of Central Baptist Church in Lancaster, Texas. He and his wife were saved and baptized together in 2003. He loved the Lord and ministered to people whenever he had the opportunity. He wants to see all of his loved ones again in heaven.

Beryl and Nancy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 12, 2010, and renewed their wedding vows on Feb. 14, 2011.

Beryl was a master carpenter. In 1983 he moved, with his family, to Texas to build homes. Beryl had many hobbies and interests. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, reading and searching for arrowheads. He was a great husband and father, and is immensely loved and deeply missed by his family. He was a gentleman, a hard worker, honest, talented, intelligent and witty.

Beryl passed away peacefully at home from complications of COPD. He was diagnosed 16 years ago. Nancy was his wonderful and attentive, full-time caregiver.
