Be prepared for detours, traffic delays in downtown Savannah

Motorists should expect downtown traffic detours and delays in Savannah this weekend to accommodate the Riverfest events.
The city announced that starting at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 13, Main Street will experience staggered road closures.
At 2 p.m., Main Street will be closed from West Main Street by the cannonballs to Adams Street. At 4:30 p.m., the closure will extend to Williams Street.
At 5 p.m., Main Street will be fully closed to Williams Street. Then at 8 p.m. the closure will extend farther to Guinn Street.
At 9 p.m., Main Street will be completely closed and will remain so through Saturday, and reopen sometime early Sunday, Sept. 15.
