Barbara Easley

Barbara K. Easley departed this life on Wednesday, July 25, at the age of 73 years, 9 months, 4 days.

Barbara was born in Hardin County on Oct. 21, 1938, the daughter of the late Elmer and Lantie Rinks Caperton. She was a lifelong Hardin Countian and a member of the Democratic Women of Hardin County, International Ladies Garment Workers Union, and attended Faith Pointe Church in Adamsville. Barbara had worked at Wal-Mart as a stocker for 10 years. She enjoyed cooking for her family, fishing, traveling, gardening and canning. She also enjoyed basketball, football and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Barbara is survived by her children, Sheila Cox and husband Butch, Sammy Easley and wife Sissy all of Savannah, Scottina Pickens and husband Kenny of Adamsville; 10 grandchildren, Mandy King, Selina Seabrooks, James "Bubba" Garner, Brad Burns, Will Burns, Blake Easley, Brianna Easley, Brett Dicus, Maegan Young and Logan Young and nine great-grandchildren, Geary Searcy III, Gracie King, Emily King, Elijah Seabrooks, Glenn Seabrooks III, Braden Garner, Kade Garner, Drake Garner and Brave Easley; a brother, Wesley Caperton of Savannah; sisters, Shelby Higgins and Pat Prince, both of Savannah; special nephew, Don Caperton of Savannah.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Kaye Burns; sisters, Lena Blount, Hautie Fielder, Louise Blount and Inez Caperton; brothers, Elmer Junior Caperton, Douglas Caperton and William Robert Caperton.

Services were held on Saturday, July 28, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Gerald Caperton, Harry Nolen officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
