Barbara Burns

Barbara Alexander Burns, 57, of Savannah, died Saturday, May 1.

She was born in Leeds, Ala., the daughter of the late Robert Leslie and Mamie Marie Elmore Alexander. She was united in marriage to Ronnie Lee Burns, who preceded his wife in death.

Mrs. Burns worked for American Food Service for five years as a metal finisher. She was a member of Nixon Pentecostal Church.

Services were held on Tuesday, May 4, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Rannie Moore officiating. Burial was in the Neill Cemetery at Savannah.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Qualls and Mary Scott, both of Savannah; four sisters, Darlene Lanier of Helena, Ala., Myra Todd of Savannah, Patricia Urick of Pell City, Ala. and Vira Dyers of Leeds, Ala.; four brothers, Jerry Alexander of Midfield, Ala., Johnny Alexander of Midfield, Ala., Randy Alexander of Helena, Ala. and Donald Alexander of Leeds, Ala.; three step-sisters, Tammy Richardson of Abita Springs, La., Donna Alexander of Anniston, Ala. and Tonya McGaha of Pell City, Ala.; her step-mother, Sharon Alexander of Leeds, Ala.; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Ray Alexander.
