Ancil Mack Morris, 97, of Savannah, died on Sunday, Aug. 23.
He was born in Lutts, the son of the late Walter and Effie Steely Morris. He was united in marriage to Inez McFall, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Morris was a lifelong farmer, a veteran of the US Army and a member of Whites Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Jerry Glen Morris of Savannah; daughter, Judy Kay Morris of Savannah; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Boyd Morris of Savannah; sisters, Virginia Smith of Savannah and Willodean King of Lexington.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Lynn Morris Sr.; sisters, Oakley Weston, Estoile Morris, and an infant sister; brothers, Johnny Morris, Earl Morris, Floyd Morris, Roy Morris and Coy Morris.
Services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Chad Balentine and Johnny Banks officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens at Savannah.
