After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic, the annual Hee Haw shows benefiting the Hardin County Cancer Association are returning this month.

Hee Haw director Kathy Moon said the organization is excited to return to the stage.

“We are all ecstatic to start the shows back. To everyone’s recollection we have been hosting a show since 1972, and it was unfortunate that we couldn’t host our shows for two years because of COVID. Now, we are tired of that and we are ready to have fun,” she said.

Hee Haw shows are a country variety show for the whole family to enjoy.

“The shows consist of clean country jokes and good country songs. The show is clean, fun family entertainment. There will be lots of surprises, but I can’t tell all the secrets. Y’all have to come to the shows to see – you will not be disappointed,” said Moon.

Hardin County’s Hee Haw shows are on Friday, March 17 and Saturday, March 18. Show times are at 6:30 p.m., with a pre-show featuring Wayne Jerrolds and Savannah Grass at 6 p.m. It all takes place at the Hardin County High School auditorium in Savannah at 1170 Pickwick St.

Children 4 and under are admitted free to the charity fundraiser shows.

“All of the money raised in Hardin County will stay in Hardin County. That is our motto – Hardin countians helping Hardin countians. Proceeds will benefit the Hardin County Cancer Association, because it is a cause with such a need in the county. So, again, come on out and have fun while supporting a great cause,” Moon urged.
