James Linam (11-10-23) service 11-14-23

James Noel Linam, 77, of Savannah, passed away on Friday, Nov. 10. He was born on Jan. 6, 1946, in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of the late Lawrence Wayne and Martha Ada Kelly Linam.
On Dec. 22, 1967, he was united in marriage to Cassandra Sue Clay, who survives.
Mr. Linam honorably served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964 until 1966. He worked in the powerhouse at Packaging Corporation of America in Counce, for 35 years. He was a member Woodmen of the World, VFW of Savannah, and American Legion in Savannah. He was also a member of Savannah Church of Christ, where he often spent time serving in the church and at Love and Learn.
Noel was an avid reader and often spent time researching family history. He enjoyed going on trips to the flea market, yard sales and to the beach with his family. He loved doing yard work, gardening, serving fellow veterans, carpentry work, designing, playing sports, and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Linam loved and served his God, family, community and country well. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cassandra Sue Linam of Savannah; daughters, Shelley Linam Nance and her husband David of Brentwood, Tennessee, and Tabitha Noel Philpott and her husband Greg of Nashville, Tennessee; brothers, Eddie Linam and his wife Nancy, Don Linam and his wife Ila Jane, Charles Linam, and David Linam and his wife Lynette, all of Savannah; and grandchildren, Sarah Noel Riley, Michael Nance, Grace Philpott, Nathan Nance, Kathleen Nance and John David Nance.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Savannah Church of Christ in Savannah, with Chuck Morris and Charles Linam officiating. Burial followed at Neill Cemetery in Savannah.
