Sherry Thompson (10-27-23) service 10-29-23

Sherry Thompson, 51, of Tupelo, Mississippi, formerly of Hardin County, passed away on Friday, Oct. 27, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She was born on Nov. 4, 1971, the daughter of David and Peggy Beckham.
Sherry graduated from Hardin County High School in the class of 1990. She would go on to further her education at UT Health Science Center, graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy. She would begin her career in physical therapy at Magnolia Regional Health Center that same year. She had several certifications including Lymphedema Therapy Certification, Aquatic Therapy Certification and Credentialed Clinical Instructor. Sherry was awarded a 25 year Service Award, served as the Rehab Supervisor at Home Health, and was also honored as an employee of the month during her time at Magnolia Regional Health Center.
Sherry was a member of Gum Tree Presbyterian Church in Tupelo, where she served in missions, which was her passion. She had participated in mission trips to Mexico and Ethiopia. She also served in the Corinth Junior Auxiliary.
She enjoyed hiking, traveling, and maintaining her gardens, but most importantly she loved being with family
Sherry is survived by her husband, Jim Thompson; parents, David and Peggy Beckham; siblings, Melinda Gray (Stacey) and Lorrie Cooksey (Jeremy); children Sarah Adams (Korben), Emma Thompson, Farrow Kate Thompson and Ashtyn Thompson; grandchild, Locklyn Adams; nieces and nephews, Emily Tosh (Nathan), Ryan Gray, Annslee Cooksey and Beckham Cooksey; and great-nephew, Noah David Tosh.
Celebration of Life Services were held on Sunday, Oct. 29, at First Presbyterian Church in Corinth Mississippi. Burial followed at Neill Cemetery in Savannah, Tennessee. Pallbearers included Scotty West, David Turner, Tommy Sharp, Troy Allen, Buck Boatner and James Raiford.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Gum Tree Presbyterian Church Missions Department, 1011 S Thomas St., Tupelo, MS 38801. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Thompson family.
