Dorothy Brooks (8-31-23) service 9-5-23

Dorothy Brooks, 95, of Sardis, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 31, the daughter of the late John Martin and Martha Melinda Hopper Vestal.
She was united in marriage to Edgar Eli Brooks, Jr., who preceded his wife in death.
Mrs. Brooks was a homemaker and a member of Primitive Baptist Church in Sardis.
She is survived by children, Johnny Brooks of and Kimba Brooks; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arch Martin, Kye Martin, Albert Martin, Clyde Martin, Claude Martin, George Martin and Gilbert Martin; and sisters, Edith Broughton, Allene Weatherington and Ruby Clark.
Memorial services were held on Thursday, Sept. 5, at Hurricane Primitive Baptist Church in Sardis, with Steve Leggett officiating. Burial followed at Hurricane Cemetery in Sardis.
