Robert “Bobby” Thomasson, 70, of Savannah, passed away on Monday, March 21. He was born on Oct. 28, 1952, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, the son of the late Raymond Joseph and Ruby LaBon Buford Thomasson.
On June 17, 1975, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Crotts, who preceded her husband in death on Aug. 7, 2012.
Mr. Thomasson moved to Savannah, in 1975 to cook and manage the Wharf Restaurant, eventually becoming the owner from 1994-1999. He began working in the pipeline industry with his wife, Marilyn, in 2000, and they traveled the country. Mr. Thomasson retired in 2013. He enjoyed playing cards and traveling.
He is survived by his son, Paul J. Thomasson and his wife Nicole of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania; daughter, Staci Harris and her husband James of Savannah; grandchildren, Alec Harris and his wife Allison, Tori Harris, Lindsey Stevens and Aaron Mason; brothers, Raymond Thomasson Jr. of Springville, Tennessee, and Charles Thomasson of Paris, Tennessee; sister, Shirley Thomasson of Clarksdale, Mississippi; brothers-in-law, Bobby Crotts and his wife Nancy of Gallatin, Tennessee, Jimmy Crotts and his wife Debra of Adamsville, and Kenneth Crotts and his wife Donna of Savannah; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dinah and Wesley Gordon of Cedar Grove, Tennessee.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Jo Thomasson McCoy.
Memorial donations may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or the Darryl Worley Cancer Treatment Center.
A celebration of life memorial service was held on Saturday, March 25, at 200 Greenbriar Lane in Adamsville.
