Hardin County Schools and another ice storm warning: Groundhog Day all over again?

There’s an ice storm warning in effect for Hardin County until noon on Thursday, Feb. 2.
In light of that fact, Hardin County Director of Schools Michael Davis decided Wednesday afternoon to cancel school for tomorrow, which just happens to be Groundhog Day.
According to tradition, if a groundhog comes out of its hole on this day and sees its shadow, it gets scared and runs back into its burrow, predicting six more weeks of winter weather. No shadow means an early spring.
