Shake off the Thanksgiving bloat with an invigorating hike at Pickwick Park

Pickwick Landing State Park is offering a day after Thanksgiving hike to help burn off the excess holiday calories.
Join Park Ranger Brandon Weber and Seasonal Ranger Talilli Faleatua at 265 Inn Way off Marina Road for a 2-1/2 mile hike on Island Loop Trail from 2-4 p.m. on Nov. 25. There will be frequent stops along the way to learn about different plants and animals encountered on the trail.
Hikers should be prepared for a hike of moderate difficulty. The trail has tree roots that can be tripping hazards and closed-toe shoes are recommended. A seasonally wet drainage creek runs across a section of the trail. There is a gradual elevation gain of 118 feet.
