Kate White (9-9-22) service 9-17-22

Kate White, 97, of Savannah, passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, in Memphis. She was born on Feb. 10, 1925, in Hardin County, and she is the daughter of the late Floyd and Winnie Davis Austin Cherry.
On May 24, 1941, she was united in marriage to William Floyd White, who preceded his wife in death on December 2, 1999.
Mrs. White was a member of the Hardin Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary and First Baptist Church in Savannah. She loved her Sunday school class and enjoyed traveling with them. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, cooking and gardening. Most of all, she loved her family and she always made them her top priority.
She is survived by her son, Steve White and his wife Judy of Collierville, Tennessee; daughter, Penny Petersen and her husband Jim of Hampton, Virginia; sister, Margaret Davis of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; daughter-in- law, Shirley White of Savannah; brother-in-law, Tommy White of Killen, Alabama; grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Stephanie, Jeremy, Chris, Jay, Chad and Chase; and great -grandchildren, Dalton, Riley, William, Robbins, Landry, Chandler, Logan, Brooklyn, Baylee, Blakelee, Julian, Allistelle, Augustone and Jackson.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Floyd White Jr. and Billy White; daughter-in-law, Juanita White; and eight siblings.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 17, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, with Jeremy White officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Savannah.
