Polls open Thursday from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Polls in Hardin County are open today (Thursday) from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. to vote in the state and federal primary and state and county general election.
The county general election includes all 20 seats on the Hardin County Commission. In six of the 10 districts there are three commission candidates running for the two seats in each district. The local election also has contested races for county clerk and road superintendent.
The candidates for Hardin County trustee, General Sessions judge, sheriff, Circuit Court clerk, and register of deeds are unopposed.
Also on the local ballot are five of the 10 school board seats, and two seats on the county road board.
Tennessee voters will see on the ballot primary races for governor, U.S. House, state Senate, state House and the state Executive Committee members for each political party and retention or general elections for judicial offices and other state and local positions.
Voters need to bring valid photo identification to the polls. A driver’s license issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety, Tennessee state government or the federal government is acceptable even if it’s expired. Student IDs and out of state driver’s licenses are not acceptable.
