Willard Mitchell (6-26-22) service 8-22-22

Willard Mitchell, 89, of Adamsville passed away on Sunday, June 26 in Jackson, Tennessee. He was born August 31, 1932, in Harriman, Tennessee, the son of the late Claude and Annie Lee Mitchell.
Willard served in the United States Navy for 23 years and retired in 1972. He had a distinguished service record, receiving many awards and medals, and was twice recipient of the Edward F. Ney Award.
Mr. Mitchell was a quiet man with a sharp sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Mitchell of Adamsville; son, Paul Mitchell and wife Kym; two grandchildren, Julian Mitchell and wife Sierra and Jenna Mitchell all of Los Angeles, California; stepchildren; Shelley Sunseri of Concord, California and Edward Tucker and wife Candy of Antioch, California; two stepgrandchildren; Aaron Sunseri and Courtney Tucker of California; sister-in-law Dorcus Mitchell of Harriman, Tennessee; special cousins Melvin and Sharon Kirkpatrick of Kingston, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his first wife, June B. Mitchell; sisters Margaretta and Doreen; brothers Raleigh, Thomas, Joseph, Stewart, Leon and Millard.
A service will be held with military honors at Temecula Cemetery in California on Monday, Aug. 22.
