Clyde Franks Jr. (6-7-22) service 6-10-22
Clyde A. Franks Jr., 91, of Savannah, died Tuesday, June 7. He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Clyde A. Franks and Bertha E. Melson Franks.
He was united in marriage to Mamie Lee Grissom, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Franks retired from the Hardin County Highway Department where he was a heavy equipment operator. He formerly attended Hope Ministries in Savannah.
He is survived by his children, Otis Dewayne Harville and Shirley Stevenson, both of Savannah; two grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Susie Wilson of Savannah; and brothers, J.C. Franks of Savannah and Bill Franks of Manchester, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents and wife, Clyde was preceded in death by his sisters, Bertha Mae Brooks and Sarah Evelyn Franks; brother, James Lewis Franks; grandchildren, Wendy Rippie and Tonya Irwin; and great-grandchildren, Timothy Harville and Jeremiah Harville.
Services were held on Friday, June 10 at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Daniel Holt officiating. Burial followed at Neill Cemetery in Savannah.
