Jessie Lee Short, 79, of Milledgeville, died on Friday, May 20, in Milledgeville.
He was born in Lawrence County, Tennessee, the son of the late Walker and Carrie Malone Short.
Mr. Short served his country in the United States Army. He was self-employed as a painter and was a member of USAA and American Legion.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Anthony Short and Jessie Lee Short Jr.; daughters, Sharon Lorraine Roberts, Samantha Jo Short Burks, and April Dianne Short; brothers, Bobby Short and Roger Short; sisters, Faye Alexander and Jo Malone Keeter; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Mary Josephine Short.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Short, Jackie Short and Mac Short; and his sister, Sandra Kay Short.
Services were held on Monday, May 23 at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Keith Holloway officiating.
