Virginia Melson (3-30-22) service 4-4-22

A celebration of life service for Virginia Dare Melson, 82, of Olive Hill, was held on Monday, April 4, at Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Olive Hill with interment following at Olive Hill Cemetery. Randy Stricklin officiated the service.
Mrs. Melson passed away Wednesday, March 30, at Adamsville Healthcare and Rehab. She was born Aug. 7, 1939, in Hardin County, to Clarice Franks and Alma Grimes Franks.
She was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church of Olive Hill. She was Nanny to everyone and enjoyed going to church and gospel singings. She loved spending time with her family, her jewelry and dolls.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Joda Melson Jr., Richard Melson and wife Nora and Daniel Melson and wife Debbie; nine grandchildren, Nacole McDuffy (Jeremy), Jeremiah Melson, Amber Melson (Michael), Chevy Melson, Ariel Melson, Jenna Melson, Trystan Counce, Vance Melson (Jessica) and Devin Melson (Haley); 13 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Edward Franks (Glenda) and Paul Carol Franks (Gwen); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joda Melson; her father, Clarice Franks; her mother, Alma Grimes Franks; her brother, Robert Franks; and her sister, Becky Doyle.
Pallbearers were Chevy Melson, Jeremiah Melson, David Franks, Vance Melson, Devin Melson and Steve Moore. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Virginia Dare Melson.
