Mike Johnson, 62, of Savannah, died on Saturday, March 26, in Savannah.
He was born in Tacoma, Washington, the son of the late E.W. and Sarah Estelle Hayes Johnson. He was united in marriage to Betty Virginia Benson, who survives.
Mr. Johnson served his country in the United States Army, serving time in Germany. He was a past member of the American Legion. He was a master carpenter and owned his own construction company while living in Washington.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Savannah; daughter, Rachel Thompson of Renton, Washington; stepchildren, Karen Benson of Adamsville and James Copeland of Crump; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Ayers of Hampton, Virginia; and brothers, Dave Johnson of Morris Chapel, Donald Johnson of Savannah and Tony Johnson of Detroit, Michigan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Deborah Johnson; and two brothers, Eddie W. Johnson and Jerry W. Johnson.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 9, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah.
